THE HEART OF THE COMMUNITY
Making our communities better places in which to live is a major portion of the mission of the Moose fraternity. Our Lodges and Chapters annually contribute monetary donations, values of miles driven and value of hours served totaling more than $75 million. From small projects to large undertakings, from local programs to national and international partnerships, the men and women of the Moose are there – and they are reliable, compassionate and genuine in their responses to the needs of others. Our goal is for residents, both members and non-members, to see the Moose as “The Heart of the Community.”

ANNOUNCING OUR NEXT HEART OF THE COMMUNITY PROJECT
"THE FRIENDSHIP PROJECT!"
THE DETAILS ARE JUST BELOW!
Once again I am asking each lodge and chapter to work in unison to raise funds for this worthy cause. Please hold events at your lodge so that your membership can be a part of helping to raise money and understand what it means to be the heart of the community. Get creative with your fundraising and have fun. Include the community in your fundraising efforts-you can get credit twice on your lodge reports for the fundraiser held and donation-win win. Additionally, it will shed light on the Moose as a community supporter. I am suggesting a minimum donation of $500. Due to your successful fund-raising we have been able to help several local veteran's organizations in the past and I have no doubt we can do it again this year.
***Donations should be sent to Sean Mahoney earmarked "Veteran's Inc" prior to the conference or can be given to me at the conference***
Some fundraising ideas-although I know you all have many more ideas so please share them on the MA/RI Facebook page.
*Buy a veteran a beer-put a jar out and ask members to donate the cost of a beer
*hold a 50/50
*hold a dinner in honor of the veterans-open it to the community
*basket raffles
Please reach out if you have any questions

Heart of the Community Project SUCCESS!!
THANK YOU EVERYONE!!
Greetings all!
Our 2023 annual convention was one of the best by far! Scott Hart was the official visitor and the registered attendees were double over the last conference. Well done!
❤️2023 Annual HOC project "Buy a Cop Lunch"-Once again I asked and you delivered! An astounding $2905 worth of gift cards were donated by lodges, chapters and individuals at convention with another $450 donated during the march of checks!! Total-$3355. Wow just WOW!! I have purchased the additional $450 worth of gift cards and will get busy shortly sorting and sending out to various police departments around the state. To say I have my work cut out for me is an understatement! Please watch for an additional email to follow with each lodge/chapter donation so you can add it to your lodge/chapter HOC reporting
❤️ July state meeting HOC project "Sports Balls"-due to July's meeting in Greenfield being cancelled we asked everyone to bring the sports balls to convention so that Greenfield could collect and donate to a local youth sports organization. Well John Andrews needed a truck to bring them back because you all donated 354 balls, 4 ball pumps, 64 golf balls, 8 cornhole bags and a tennis racket!!!! Thanks everyone for your generosity.
❤️❤️October 21-state meeting HOC project-please bring Halloween candy and/or Halloween toys to be donated to the "Friendship Project" in Attleboro for their annual Trunk or Treat event. See attached flyer.

Hello everybody!
In keeping with the "Buy a Cop a Lunch" HOC project we will be raising funds to donate to "Buy a Cop a Lunch" Initiative.
The "Buy a Cop a Lunch" fundraiser organized by the Massachusetts Moose Association is a commendable initiative that aims to express gratitude and support for our local policemen and women. In a time when law enforcement officers often face criticism and scrutiny, it is important to acknowledge the crucial role they play in maintaining safety and order within our communities. By providing gift cards for coffee or lunch, we are not only offering a small token of appreciation, but also acknowledging the daily challenges and sacrifices that police officers make.
Supporting them with a meal or a warm cup of coffee is a simple yet meaningful gesture that can brighten their day and let them know that their efforts are recognized and valued. Furthermore, this fundraiser benefits not only the officers themselves, but also our communities as a whole. Building positive relationships between law enforcement and the public is crucial for fostering a sense of trust and cooperation. When officers feel supported and appreciated, it boosts morale and motivation, leading to a more dedicated and effective police force. In turn, this can enhance community safety and promote a sense of security among residents.
Additionally, the "Buy a Cop a Lunch" fundraiser encourages community engagement and unity. It gives individuals an opportunity to actively participate in supporting their local police department, reinforcing the idea that we are all responsible for maintaining a safe and harmonious society. Such initiatives foster a sense of camaraderie and strengthen the bond between the police and the community they serve.
In conclusion, the "Buy a Cop a Lunch" fundraiser organized by the Massachusetts Moose Association is a noble and helpful idea that recognizes the hard work and sacrifices made by our local police officers. By offering them a small token of appreciation, we not only brighten their day but also strengthen the bond between law enforcement and our communities. This initiative promotes unity, trust, and a sense of shared responsibility, ultimately contributing to safer and more harmonious neighborhoods.
